About Dr. Chris Broyhill
Dr. Chris Broyhill is the founder and inventor of AirComp Calculator™. He brings more than 40 years of aviation experience to compensation analysis.
A U.S. Air Force Academy graduate, he spent more than 20 years in the Air Force flying the A-10 and F-16. He later served as a chief pilot and aviation director in Part 91 and Part 135 operations.
Since 2017, he's led NBAA research on retention, compensation and leadership, including a study of more than 1,100 business aviation pilots. He holds a doctorate in aviation from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and degrees from the U.S. Air Force Academy and California State University. He's a Certified Compensation Professional and a CAM Fellow in NBAA's Certified Aviation Manager program.
Broyhill has written more than 10 books, including the Contract series of thrillers and two business aviation books: "The Business Aviation Book: Leading Operational Excellence," co-written with Mike Nichols in 2025, and "Business Aviation Leadership: From the Traits to the Trenches." He also hosts "The Flight Department Show," a podcast for business aviation leaders.
