Employee Compensation Software That Answers
“What’s the Going Rate?”

The AirComp Calculator™ is business aviation’s only online compensation analysis system. It can provide precise compensation ranges for 14 business aviation positions in six aircraft classes at 55 locations throughout the United States in seconds.

Aviation Compensation Analysis

The Information You Need Is At Your Fingertips

Limitations of Using Survey Data Alone

All compensation surveys are not created equal. Some surveys, like those available through pilot networking or recruiting websites, may not be statistically valid. For a survey instrument to possess validity and reliability, the two hallmarks of statistical data collection and analysis, it needs to be created and administered by professionals who are knowledgeable in the field of statistics. Furthermore, to avoid bias in the data input, compensation data should not be entered by those in the positions being analyzed, but by those who are disinterested third parties, such as human relations or compensation professionals. There are only a few surveys where both of these conditions are satisfied – and those are the only surveys the AirComp Calculator™ uses.

But even with a valid survey, what number do you select? Do you merely consider the average compensation for a position, or do you use the number from the applicable class of aircraft? And how do regional corrections apply to the data? Moreover, since survey data is typically at least six months old by the time the survey is published, how do you age the data into the present? Finally, how do you avoid the appearance of “cherry-picking” numbers out of surveys that might support one side of the compensation discussion better than the other?

The AirComp Calculator™ Methodology

The AirComp Calculator™ uses Dr. Broyhill’s proprietary methodology that includes validated aviation compensation surveys and data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). The survey data is aged into the present and regionalized using internal survey trends and data from the BLS. The Calculator generates onscreen and pdf output that features:

  • Market compensation ranges for base salary, total cash compensation, and total compensation at the 50th, 75th, and 90th percentile levels;
  • Computation of compa-ratio (ratio of current compensation to range midpoint) for all ranges;
  • 401K matching comparison as an element of total cash compensation;
  • Comparison of total compensation as a function of benefits load; and
  • Observations and recommendations regarding the relationship between input compensation, compa-ratio, and system-generated ranges.

As you can see from the demonstration, each query creates an onscreen report and a downloadable pdf, each with Dr. Broyhill’s guarantee that the data displayed is current and accurate. This report isn’t based on opinion or interpretation. It’s data-driven and scientifically-derived, resulting from a proprietary process that has been demonstrated to and accepted by executives, HR compensation professionals, and aviation managers all over the country.

Report Generation and Retention

All user queries are stored within the system on our secure server. Pdf reports can be generated for each/all queries within specific date ranges.

Choose From Yearly Subscriptions or Ad-hoc Reports

We have a plan to fit every need. Explore the options below.

Multiple subscription levels are available depending on the needs of the organization. For organizations or individuals that only want a few looks at the data per year, single ad-hoc reports and multiple report packages are available. For most organizations, Dr. Broyhill recommends purchasing a subscription level that will allow at least two queries per person per year to support both mid-year and year-end reviews. The purchase of additional queries beyond two per person will allow the organization to follow aviation compensation trends in real-time as they change quarterly.

Subscriptions for Organizations

Subscriptions renew annually unless canceled.
Unused queries will be rolled over to subsequent year(s) if the subscription is renewed.

* Prices may be subject to additional taxes and fees.

Ad-hoc Reports for Individuals or Organizations With Less Than 5 Employees

* Prices may be subject to additional taxes and fees.
